Thanks for contacting us. The perimeter fence was in poor condition and there were also some health and safety concerns relating to the storage of wheelie bins on the footpath. The regeneration of Kerria is a long-term project, and some tenants will be living there for the next few years while the project is completed.
Our first priority is the safety of residents and so it was agreed by our tenant group that the replacement of the fence was justified.
The money to pay for the fence was funded by the Environmental Works Project, which comes from the Housing Revenue Account, and was not paid for by Council Tax.
I hope this goes some way to addressing your concerns.
