Compulsory purchase of land at Kerria estate

Notice is hereby given that Tamworth Borough Council has made on the 11th February 2016 THE TAMWORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL (KERRIA ESTATE TAMWORTH) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2016 under section 226(1)(a) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.  It is about to submit this order to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government for confirmation, and if confirmed, the order will authorise Tamworth Borough Council to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of facilitating  the carrying out of development, redevelopment and improvement on or in relation to  the land, by comprehensive redevelopment comprising erection of dwellings, retail,  associated car parking,  means of access together with accompanying environmental, public realm and transportation works including highway infrastructure improvements to contribute to the achievement, promotion and improvement of the economic social and environmental well-being of the acquiring authority’s area

A copy of the order and of the maps referred to therein have been deposited at the offices of the Tamworth Borough Council, Marmion House, Lichfield Street, Tamworth,  B79 7BZ and at Glascote Library, 80 Caledonian, Tamworth, B77 2ED  and may be seen there at the usual opening hours.  They are also listed on this website below.

Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, National Planning Casework Unit, 5 St Philips Place, Colmore Row, Birmingham, B3 2PW  before 18th March 2016 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector’s address and interests in the land.
